Training Programs

JCIF conducts fiscal and financial seminars mainly for transition economies in the Indo-china region, Central Asia and Eurasia, and Eastern Europe as well as developing countries in the regions of South East Asia, Latin America and Africa as well as the rest of the world. The seminars are carried out through cooperation with the Japanese government, international organizations such as the IMF and the ADB, and Japanese financial institutions.

These activities are carried out as Japanese technical assistance programs through the Official Development Assistance (ODA) and the development programs of the aforementioned international organizations. The specific goal of these programs is to assist in the smooth transition of former socialist countries to market economies and the sound economic progress of developing countries through enrichment of human resources capable of performing jobs relating to fiscal and financial system growth and reform.

JCIF seminar programs have been conducted both in Tokyo and overseas since April 1992. Through the growing networks of organization and individuals in the recipient countries and the variety of lecturers who have abundant practical experiences and knowledge in the fields of fiscal policy, monetary policy, tax systems, banking and finance, and international finance, among others, JCIF stands ready to fulfill the various needs and request of recipient countries. Since the start of our training activities in 1992 unto the end of fiscal year 2008, the Center saw a total of 228 seminar programs implemented, with over 7,400 participants in total.
